Dr. Paul Tippet, MDDr. Paul Tippet was born in 1956 in Connecticut. He graduated North Haven High School in 1974, and was among the top ten students of over 400 in his graduating class and a National Merit Scholar. He attended Wesleyan University in Middletown, CT., graduating with cum laude honors in 1978, majoring in biology. He attended the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine from 1978-1982. It was during his fourth year of medical school that he completed an intense rotation in Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility at Magee-Women’s Hospital under Dr. David Archer. The involvement in patient care, surgery, laboratory procedures, and research ignited his interest in the subspecialty.
Dr. Tippet completed a 4-year residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at the State University of New York at Buffalo in 1986. As Chief Resident his 4th year, he was presented with The Chairman’s Award “in recognition of overall academic and clinical excellence as Chief Resident in Obstetrics and Gynecology”. He completed a Fellowship in Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility at Georgetown University in Washington, D.C. in 1988. His training emphasis was in clinical infertility, working within a large infertility practice. He helped integrate transvaginal ultrasound into ovulation induction protocols, and developed protocols for intrauterine insemination. His surgical training was heavy in tubal microsurgery and laparoscopic treatment of endometriosis. His research was completed at The National Institutes of Health in Bethesda, MD.Dr. Tippet is Board Certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology, passing his boards in 1990, and recertified in 2000. He is board eligible in the subspecialty of Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility, passing his written Boards in 1988 and again in 1996. He is a member of The American Society of Reproductive Medicine, The American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology, The Society of Reproductive Endocrinologists, and many other professional societies.
He married his wife Christy in 1982, they have two grown children Kelly and Bryan. Dr.Tippet enjoys gardening, golf, swimming and spending time with his family and friends.

Christy is a native of Monessen Pennsylvania. She completed her Registered Nursing degree in 1979 as a graduate of the West Penn Hospital School of Nursing and received her B.S.N. from Duquesne University in 1990. Christy enjoyed her career as an Oncology Nurse for many years until she relocated to Washington DC where Dr.
Tippet completed his fellowship. While living in Washington DC, Christy was employed at the Columbia Hospital for Women. She was the Nurse Manager and instrumental in the development of one of the nations first continence centers devoted to caring and treating patients will bladder disorders. Upon return to Pittsburgh she helped establish and was the Clinical Supervisor for the Continence Center at Allegheny General Hospital. She also worked as the Special Donations Liaison for Central Blood Bank before assuming her role at the Center for Fertility and Gynecology in 1991.
Christy is a volunteer instructor for Carlow University’s New Choices/New Options Career Development Program. She has also served as the Founding and current President of Infertility Nursing Connection. Her duties as President are focused on continuing education for local Infertility and Gynecology Nurses.
